About Club

The Surat Tennis Club was established as Mehta Club in year 1915

The present-day Surat Tennis Club located adjoining the grounds and campus of Sir K P College of Commerce, was established as Mehta Club in year 1915-1917 by few sports lovers of Surat.

After a decade this club was renamed from Mehta Club to The Surat Tennis Club in the year 1927. This sports club thereon served the aspirations of sports lovers of Surat with sports activities, without having any prejudice of caste or religion till date.

The club initiated its journey of building up its infrastructure as on 1996 and was able to complete its majority of the present day infrastructure with the opening of club house as on 19 Oct 1999.

The present-day club boasts itself to be in the heart of Surat city with modern and well-equipped infrastructure for sports activities like Gym, Swimming Pool, Steam, Sauna, Badminton, Table Tennis, Billiards, Snooker, Volleyball, Children Play, Bridge and Card Rooms to name a few. It has full functional Banquet Hall, Amphitheatre Hall, Restaurant, Guest Rooms and Library.

This five-star club stands today with continuous and selfless contributions by respective managing committee board members, and club members for its betterment since its inception. The club also acknowledges the support of the Local and State Government bodies who have time and again assisted in legal requirements of this club.

The safety of the members is always a concern. The club adheres to fire safety norms and is fully equipped for an emergency. It has medical kits on all floors.
